Ross Robinson departs Volusia after droop rule infraction

Ross Robinson trekked to Volusia Speedway Park (Barberville, Fla.) on Thursday afternoon to kick off the 2023 campaign with the fourth annual Sunshine Nationals.

With the pit area packed with a field of 47 World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series entries, Robinson raced to a runner-up finish in his heat race but was docked four positions after race officials declared he failed the droop rule. The team made the decision to pack up and sit out the remaining two nights.

Ross returns to action January 26th as the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series invades Golden Isles Speedway (Brunswick, Ga.) for the Super Bowl of Racing.
