Ross Robinson drives 25th-to-4th in Show-Me 100 at Lucas Oil Speedway
Ross Robinson was one of 63 Super Late Models amassed at Lucas Oil Speedway (Wheatland, Mo.) on Thursday night as the 32nd annual Show-Me 100 weekend kicked off with the Cowboy Classic.
With the first two nights serving as a non-points event for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS), Robinson fell short of a transfer spot in his heat race and B-Main, shifting his focus to Friday.
The following night, Ross’s fourth-to-second heat showing positioned him on the sixth row for Friday’s preliminary feature. With a $10,000 top prize up for grabs, Robinson lost two spots to finish 13th.
With a provisional already secured into the main event, Robinson used his B-Main on Saturday evening as a test session for the upcoming 100-lap feature. Taking the green in 25th for the weekend finale, Ross advanced through the field 21 positions to register a fourth-place finish. He trailed Jonathan Davenport, Tim McCreadie, and Daulton Wilson across the line with Ricky Thornton Jr. coming in fifth.
The impressive showing for the Delaware native earned him the Todd Steel Buildings Hard Charger of the Race award.
